Great Days Out (to explore and learn from)
There are so many amazing places in Bristol, Bath, South Wales and the South West. You've probably heard of many of these but there may be a few that you've not come across. We strongly encourage families to get 'out and about' as often as you can - there is so much for children to learn and experience from the world around them. Seeing real places, exploring them, talking about what you've seen and recalling what you've remembered is a great way to expand your horizons.
We appreciate that some of these visits have an associated cost so have tried to include some places that are free to visit too.
Each icon below will take you to the website for that attraction where there is lots more information about what to expect from a visit and how to find it.
FREE ENTRY - The Mshed is a large, modern museum with plenty to explore, much of it relating to Bristol and its history.
A short walk from Bristol Museum is the unmissable Cabot Tower - it's free to climb and is located in Brandon Hill Park (great for a picnic)!
Just beside Bristol Museum is the Wills Memorial Building. Admire it from outside or pay for a tour to the top of the tower (age 8 and over only).
